About Jason Patrick Jenkins
Canadian Jason Patrick Jenkins is a passionate and dedicated artist committed to the school of Contemporary Classical Realism. Born and raised in Newfoundland, Canada, he began his studies with a 4-year Bachelor’s in Fine Art from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2001, and more recently added 4 more years of study in the Advanced Fine Art Program of Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia, where he currently holds a position on faculty. He also holds a position on faculty at the Wayne Art Center and the Abington Art Center. He has independently studied Glazing, Alla Prima painting, and The Dutch (or Flemish) Method. He has worked with grids, projectors, and transfers utilizing photo references, but his preferred method is free hand, emphasizing gesture drawing and working in mass, from the live model. His work has been shown internationally and he currently holds Associate Living Master status with the Art Renewal Center and Mater Mentor status with Mastrius.com. His work and his method have been detailed extensively in Fine Art connoisseur, Fine Art Today, and International Artist Magazine. He has been recognized in multiple national and international juried contests, and recently was awarded a grant from the Stobart Foundation. He is an avid studio artist and a committed teacher of the complete practice of Fine Art production and the business related to it.
